Physician Program

Doctor, you didn't spend fifteen years becoming a physician to feel like this.

For physicians who have noticed the work takes more out of them than it gives back. So that the decisions that matter get made by you — and not by the exhaustion.

How you know

Almost nobody goes looking for "coaching"

People go looking when this starts to feel normal:

  • You come off shift not tired but hollow — and Monday doesn't fix it.
  • Patients who would once have moved you don't reach you anymore.
  • You run decisions past yourself three times that used to be automatic.
  • The thought of a complaint or a lawsuit is always somewhere in the room.
  • At home you are present without being there.
  • Sleep stops carrying you through.
  • You catch yourself working out how much longer you would have to hold on.

None of that is weakness. It is a familiar pattern under sustained strain — and there is an explanation for it.

You're not the problem

You're not the problem

Most "physician wellness" tells you to be more resilient. That's exactly why it doesn't work.

Burnout isn't a character flaw or a willpower deficit. It's a predictable state your nervous system enters when stress can't be resolved — for long enough that it stops switching off.

The mechanism

Understand it, and it stops running you

You were trained to understand the human body at a level almost no one else reaches. You were never shown how stress is actually generated inside your own nervous system — and why "just cope better" can't touch it.

When you understand the mechanism, it loses its grip. That's the whole approach: not one more resilience webinar — the level underneath it.

What changes

What changes

  • A hard shift takes over your evening less often.
  • You get more clarity going into demanding decisions.
  • You notice sooner when you are running past your limit — early enough to do something about it.
  • The question of whether to stay in medicine becomes answerable. Some stay. Some leave. Either one is a result.

How we work

The work is informed by ACT, schema therapy, stress physiology and trauma research. Psychotherapeutic treatment — EMDR therapy, for instance — is not part of this coaching.

The difference

Why this is different

01

Grounded in established neuroscience

How stress arises — described as a mechanism, not motivational platitudes.

02

Led by a physician who is also a psychotherapist

Someone who has sat where you sit.

03

Built for doctors specifically

Your world, your language, not generic "executive wellness".

How it works

How it works

1

A confidential first conversation, 15 minutes, free

Directly with Dr. Zeiss. You describe what is going on.

2

Drawing the line before we start

Before any coaching begins, we establish whether coaching is the right frame for what you are bringing. If there are indications that medical or psychotherapeutic care is needed, we do not begin the coaching and recommend an assessment by an independently licensed professional.

3

Goals and non-goals

What should change. And what is explicitly not the subject.

4

The work

Sessions at an agreed rhythm, online.

5

It ends when the goal is met

No subscription, no minimum term. Some people need five sessions, some twenty.

Frequently asked

The questions that come first

This is coaching, not medical care. We make no diagnosis and create no medical record. Contractual and administrative records are kept in line with applicable data protection and retention requirements. We report nothing to a board, a licensing body, an employer or an insurer. Whether you yourself have any reporting obligation is a question for your board or your attorney, not for us.

No. Nothing is billed through a third party and no report goes to anyone.

Yes. Everything discussed is treated as confidential. It is shared only with your consent, or where the law requires it — for instance where there is an acute risk to life.

No — and you won't get one here. If it becomes clear that treatment is indicated, we say so and point you to it.

Sessions run around midday Eastern Time. For anyone in Europe that lands in the early evening; for anyone in the US it fits a lunch break.

This is coaching. Not therapy, not crisis care.

If what you are carrying belongs in licensed care, we will tell you — and help you find it.

No pretending — in either direction.
